April 2011 - It's been a while...

My, my, my; what lazy TITs we’ve been! No blog for like 3 months! Shameful! But rest assured, the blog is the ONLY part of our little organization (LOL) that has gone neglected in recent months. We’ve been working our collective ass off (yes we have a collective ass…it can get awkward…) and sadly we are only four humans, so the smaller, less important things tend to suffer. If we were a father and this blog our neglected child, we might attempt to buy them off with with a MacDonald’s, some Bakugan, an Xbox 360, a trip to Centreparks and finally, when all else fails, a prostitute. Unfortunately blogs don't tend to have a use for most of these things, and we can't afford a prostitute, so we’re going to show this blog some love instead. Right now. Are you watching?

Before I get on tales of what exactly has made us so busy that we can’t even maintain a thousand-word-a-month blog, I just want to say welcome to all new subscribers we’ve reeled in since last time. All 75 of you! If you’re reading this you’re probably one of them; remember? You gave us some of your money and e-mail address in exchange for one of those shiny circular things you put in your computer? Remember? Anyway, In the grander scheme of things not a huge number, but relative to our time as a band and our combined low self-esteem it’s MASSIVE and joking aside, it does mean a lot to have people care what we’re up to, and what we’ve got to say about it. So thanks!

This Is Two's  For Friends : For Enemies - EP. OUT NOW!

Now, where to start? Well, I suppose the biggest bit of news (albeit a touch outdated) since last you heard from us is the EP. Our debut EP to be precise. That’s right! At a special launch show Liverpool’s The Picket on the 19th of February, we released our Debut EP “For Friends : For Ememies”, as well as a whole bunch of merch (modeled below by some adorable TITFans!).

The show was fantastic, and we were joined by friends and family from all over the UK who came to show their support!

Thank you ten everyone who came and also a big pile of thanks go to the sound and lighting guys on the night! It sounded great, but most of all it helped us realize that band+smoke+strobe = rockstars! Seriously it felt great to have a bit of visual bang other than us flailing around like lunatics and contributed to some bloody amazing photo’s too! A la:

So yeah, our EPs, and some handsome merchandise are available NOW! Tasters of the tracks here, Physical copies and merch here, and you can buy on download from iTunes and Amazon. We hope you enjoy and do let us know what you think! We really care!

Moving on: Gigs! Yeah there’s been plenty of them! We’ve been trying to get out there as often a possible because a) it’s fun b) we fucking love it c) you deserve it and d) we fucking love it! Recently, our pursuit of gigs lead us to The Railway in Bolton where we played with our friends Drama. The venue may have been fairly impossible to find due to the fact that there is about 8 venues in Bolton named “The Railway”, many of which look, with naught a hint of irony, like this:

But nevertheless it was worth it! The crowd was an awesome, enthusiastic bunch of young and ageing bikers/rockers. And when I say enthusiastic, I mean REALLY enthusiastic. I mean like offering-Liam-sex enthusiastic! That’s not an analogy. That happened! Ask him! Needless to say, we loved it and can’t wait to go back to Bolton soon! See you there?

In other gig news, we’ve been playing plenty in our HQ city with two awesome shows: 1) at The Zanzibar Club with the likes of Axis Of, Battleships & Always The Quiet Ones (that one is actually reviewed here – my favorite part is where he says we have swagger, but not in a cuntish oasis way...come to think of it I never thought of any of us as the swaggering type…) and 2) at The Shipping Forecast with Carnival Kids & Muto Leo. The latter, for Me & Him Promotions, was probably the best night we’ve ever played; there was such a vibe! I mean look at Joshes face!

Thanks to Charli Anne Williams for this one!

But also, it has really yielded some great oppertunities for us; you’ll get to know them when they’re more significant. Now, moving away from Gigland, just a quick note that we will be playing the LIPA 3rd Degree Festival on Thursday the 14th of April with Heat, & The James Whitehouse Band (who I saw over the week-end and well…you’re in for a treat!). It promises to be our biggest show to date, with many of pyros and light. Yes. We shit you not. EXPLOSIONS! Our only prayer is that Liam doesn’t do a “Hetfield” on us. Tasteless? What was that like 10 years ago? Meh. You can buy wristbands for the whole festival here or tickets for our night only here.

From gigland to studioland! Just a quick word on how we’ve been busy in the studio with Josh McArdle (50% of the brains behind the recording of 40% of our EP…weyyy confusing!) working to bring you some ear candy! This time it’s in the form of a double A-side single including new live staples “Light Up The Way Home”, and “I Am My Secret Evil Twin”, and should be with you some time in May.

We really feel like we’ve stepped our game, trying out new approaches in the studio, and are hopfully producing something head and shoulders above the EP. It seems to us like we’re achieving it anyway as is illustrated by this video:

I don’t know when I started laughing like The Count from Sesame Street, not that any of you can answer that, given that you probably didn’t notice, what with the big old soundgasm you were hearing. Haha. It’s even more epic in context! Come to think of it, it might ONLY be epic in context…difficult for us to judge really… At any rate, we can’t wait for you to hear it!

And that about wraps it up for this time. As usual we’ll let you know when we have gigs/releases coming-up, and anything else we think you might find interesting. Trust us when we say, there are VERY busy times ahead, and as always we can’t wait to share them with you!

TAPE THOSE EYES BACK

Dan
